Rachel Lee
Hi, I’m Rachel, and I’ve been on a yoga journey for over 40 years!
It all started when I was 16, with a book called Teach Yourself Yoga. I’d sneak away to my room and practice the poses, thinking my family might laugh at me if they caught me twisting myself into strange shapes.
Since then, yoga has been my guiding thread, grounding me through Iyengar training and sparking my curiosity to explore other styles like Knoff Yoga, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Yin, and Scaravelli-inspired practice.
Each approach brought unique aspects to my practice, and over the years, yoga has instilled qualities in me —like calmness, patience, compassion, resilience, and the ability to just breathe and stay steady even on the tough days. And yes, there are mornings when I’d rather stay in bed, but these treasured qualities are what keep bringing me back to the mat. Not to mention it keeps my aging body moving!
Today, yoga means so much more to me than it did back then. It’s not just about poses; it’s a lifelong companion that’s helped me grow, adapt, and find balance. Even after all these years, I’m still excited by what it reveals to me about myself and the world around me.
Along the way, I’ve been incredibly fortunate to study with inspiring teachers and mentors who have shaped my practice and my life. I hold immense gratitude for each of them, from Nicky Knoff, with her 50+ years of expertise and studies with masters like BKS Iyengar, to Leslie Kaminoff’s brilliant insights into yoga and breath anatomy, and the energizing Vinyasa teachings of Jason Crandell. I continue to be inspired by the compassionate, thoughtful approach of Norman Blair in Yin Yoga and the wise, humorous vitality of Surata, who taught me to make practice fun and stop striving for perfection.
With over 1,800 hours of teacher training and certifications from Yoga Alliance (500 RYT), Knoff Yoga, Yin Yoga, Aerial Yoga, and more, my goal as a teacher is simple: to make yoga fun, safe, and accessible for everyone, no matter where they’re starting from.
Yoga is for everyone, and I aim to share it in a way that brings each student a little closer to themselves—and maybe even inspire them to practice (secretly or not!) in their own way, just like I did all those years ago.
